| This seminar will focus on the Holy Women of Christian tradition. Colleen Feist is an Episcopal laywoman. Her focus is on the many stories and traditions of the Virgin Mary. Kelly Wilhelm is a Catholic laywoman. Her focus in on the lives of women saints. Both Colleen and Kelly tell their stories, as well as research the stories and the lives. The seminar is open to, and welcomes, both men and women. | |||||||

Once upon a time, a long time ago... Or was it yesterday across the street?... a woman lived whom most would call a saint. This week long seminar will be: A time to create through art, storytelling, plays, journal keeping, meditation, and dreamwork An embarkation on an historical journey through 2000 years of saints beginning with our first woman model of holiness and wisdom, Mary. A chance to meet women saints of the past 2000 years through listening to their stories A time to learn how to chronicle the lives of the saints we know by telling their stories An opportunity to develop a theory of women saints for ourselves Schedule Mornings - lecture and discussion Afternoon - prayer, dreaming, journaling and art work Evening - storytelling and drama Sunday: Welcome - Telling our own story of sainthood. Monday: Colleen Feist - Mary: Prototype of Sainthood Kelly Wilhelm - Qualitative Methodology in search of a theory of woman sainthood Tuesday: Colleen Feist - Holy Women in the First Christian Centuries Kelly Wilhelm - A history of the Making of Saints Wednesday: Colleen Feist - Escaping Gender Barriers: Women Dressed as Men Going on Pilgrimage and Traveling Habits of Female Pilgrims Kelly Wilhelm -How to research and tell the story of a woman saint. Thursday: Colleen Feist - Women, Piety, and The Virgin in the Middle Ages Kelly Wilhelm - The Importance of Belief Friday: Colleen Feist - The Hagiography of Holy Women Kelly Wilhelm - What is our theory of Women Saints? Activities will include: Women in Iconography in the Early Church: The Stories that Pictures Tell A Play by Hrotsvit of Gandersheim a 10th century playwriter A Costume Party: A World of Women Saints Some of the women saints whose stories will be told include: Mary Justine and Perpetua Thecla Mary of Egypt Pelagia of Antioch Egeria Hrotsvit of Gandersheim Theresa of Avila Eizabeth Ann Seton Margaret of Scotland Etheldreda of East Anglia Kateri Tekakwitha Mary Sheehy Registration Cost is $995 - Reservations: A non-refundable $200 is due at time of registration. An additional $300 is due on March 15 and the balance is due on May 1. Cancellations: Full refund (except deposit) before April 15. 50% refund until May 15. No refund afterwards.
