The Ox & the Eagle: Teaching & Preaching the Gospels
of Luke & John during Lectionary Cycle C, 2006-2007
with Robert Bela Wilhelm, Th.D.

The Ox (Luke the Evangelist) and the Eagle (John the Evangelist) present two complimentary Gospels, the Ox emphasizing compassion and the Eagle wisdom. Compassion and Wisdom together are the wellsprings of Love. During the coming liturgical year -- from Advent 2006 to Thanksgiving 2007 -- Luke provides most Sunday Gospel readings, while John provides crucial storytellings during the Lent and Easter seasons. (Go here to see which stories we will be exploring.)

This seminar will help you prepare to preach, teach, and live the Gospels of Compassion and Wisdom in the coming year. The seminar is a balance of lecture, discussion, and the in-depth shaping of these Gospel stories for both telling and hearing.
