Who is John Welch the Storyteller?

When you ask ‘John Welch how he became a professional storyteller he’ll respond – “I’ve known since the fifth grade that someday I was going to be a Storyteller.”

After working for over 35 years as a telephone repairman he has a lot of stories to tell.

A combat veteran of the Korean War, married 52 years to his high school sweetheart, grandfather of six, ordained 18 years as a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church.

Storyteller John Welch has been captivating audiences throughout the Northeast for nearly 20 years. He is a quiet gentle man who tells his stories to young children and adults of all ages. His stories conjure up images and heartwarming emotions – simply by the tone of his voice and his gestures. It is a wonderful experience.
