Robert Béla Wilhelm
MARYLAND Co-Founder and Director, 1994 I established the Apprenticeship program of the School of Sacred Storytelling in the summer of 1994 with eight apprentices at a retreat house in Augusta, Maine. Since then, we have met every summer, most recently at our campus on Sugarloaf Mountain in Maryland. My most recent books (published in 2004) are: The Wolf of Gubbio and The Fool Who Counted Sins. My wife, Mary Jo Kelly Wilhelm, and I have been conducting pilgrimages and cultural journeys since 1979. This year's journeys are to Orkney Islands, Spain, and Italy. I was born in New York City of immigrant parents, and learned my first stories from my Slovak Mother and my Hungarian Grandmother. My M.A. is in religious education, and my Th.D. is in religion and the arts. I am a Catholic layman. I am available for storytellings, workshops, lectures, and pilgrimage journeys anywhere in the world. |
