Apprentices of the School of Sacred Storytelling
What is an Apprentice?
Apprentices seek to develop their storytelling skills as they discover their own unique style of storytelling. The goal is personal enrichment, or professional development, or both. Apprentices enter a community of storytellers in a supportive setting with other apprentices and graduates of the School of Sacred Storytelling. They are personally mentored by Robert Bela Wilhelm, Th.D., the director of the School. Beside learning skills, the apprentices also explore the depth dimension and spirituality of stories. The community is ecumenical and interreligious, with a commitment to understanding, integrity, and compassion.
Apprenticeship Requirements

A total of ten units (10) completes the requirements for graudation and award of a Certificate as Master Storyteller. The nine units include:

The Apprenticeship Project
The Apprenticeship Project evolves out of your studies in the School. You may chose or change a topic anytime after completing your first Master Class. The project is normally completed and presented at your final Master Class. It is possible to complete the Apprenticeship in as little as 18 months, though most Apprentices graduate in three years.
